Froyo Marches ON

Less than a year ago, Gingerbread, Froyo would have been more popular as eatables rather than the versions of Android OS. Now Froyo is a name that dominates that smartphone OS. Google recently updated their distribution chart of their various versions of the Android OS. The Android 2.2 ( Froyo ) is the most popular one and it has the highest numbers. The outdated versions like the Donut, Cupcake and even Eclair are facing extinction as the Froyo wave has swept all across the Android territory. Though the producers are giving Gingerbread as much chance as the Froyo, it still continues to go ahead in the rankings. However, a disappointment awaits Google as its tablet Android OS 3.0 - Honeycomb has not been able to make much of an impact as yet. But surely, it will be dictating terms in the tablet industry unless Apple comes up with their own version of a tablet specific OS. Gingerbread's share has grown very well during the last two weeks and that is because of the rapid decrease in the Eclair version's share. Currently Froyo owns the market with a share of more than 60% and then Eclair follows though it is decreasing. It will be quite an interesting battle to witness as to how long it takes for the Gingerbread to become number one.
